Concerns About Next Year’s Contract Terms and Payment Risk with Hazard

During the meeting with the Head of Head Start about next year’s contract, they stated that while they understand mistakes may occur in the first year, we would be held accountable for any breach in the second year and payment to the school could be withheld in such cases. This is deeply troubling given the 103-page, non-negotiable contract filled with stipulations that seem outside our control and often impractical. My biggest fear is providing a whole month of service only to have payments withheld or disputes arise in ways we cannot rectify, which could jeopardize our ability to pay teachers and keep the school open. I was explicit that if we cannot secure timely reimbursement, we cannot guarantee continued salaries, which could force the school to close and prevent children from attending.
